PARTNER PROFILE:
WHITELION
WHO ARE WE?
Whitelion is a not-for-profit organisation which collaborates with local communities, services, businesses, and government to find solutions to the issues facing at-risk youth in Australia.
We actively promote the importance of equality, empowerment and inclusion of all people through our practice, people and programs. With a mission for all young Australians to have equal opportunity to thrive, we’re delivering prevention programs in schools, providing mobile outreach services for disengaged and homeless youth, helping homeless young people find stable housing, providing case management and mentoring programs to help young people connect to the community and putting young people in education, training and employment.
WHY ARE WE INVOLVED?
It’s our hope to give young people the pride, courage and opportunities to change their lives by being, real, committed, innovative, passionate, collaborative, courageous and accountable.
We love the perspectives of students and the passion and dedication they bring to our team. So, we’ve partnered with U.HQ not only to enhance our internship experience for students, but to get to know young, upcoming talent and make those connections early!
I loved my experience working with White Lion. A very dedicated team supporting a great cause. I was very fortunate to be able to work on one of their marketing campaigns and real life implement strategies for the company. An experience that has proved invaluable to me!
I am beyond grateful to have worked with Whitelion. The organisation has such strong values and a mission to achieve social justice, which made me feel as if my work was contributing to a greater cause, as well as providing me with the ability to develop my skills and gain valuable experience. The staff in the partnerships and communications team were all very supportive and willing to guide me through all tasks. I was given time to work on things autonomously but I also collaborated with the team to achieve common goals. Whitelion gives back to the community in incredible ways, which has opened my eyes to what I would like my future career to be like. I have gained a lot of insight into the areas of communications, media and public relations, even things that I haven’t come across during my uni course. I know feel a lot more confident in applying for future internships or job positions as I have real experience, and real physical artifacts to back it up.
