FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How will you regulate the opportunities?

When an organisation submits an opportunity, it will be subject to review from us. We’ll require a structured internship plan from the organisation and we’ll take all the legal precautions including Fair Work agreements and random audits.

Organisations will operate on a three-strike policy. Students who feel they’ve been mistreated or mislead will be able to report the organisation. The organisation will then be contacted by us, as well as receiving at least one strike depending on the severity of the incident.

We don’t tolerate workplace mistreatment, so our system involves thorough screening of both organisations and students. When you sign up for your profile, you’ll also have to verify your identity with either a student number or organisation authentication.

Do you screen reviews?

We screen reviews for offensive language and false allegations. If a particularly negative review is submitted, we’ll follow up on this to ensure it’s accurate and not defamatory. This involves us contacting both parties.

Can I submit an anonymous review?

We do accept anonymous reviews. However, to submit an anonymous review, you’ll still need to be signed in to your profile so we can verify your identity. You can simply opt to be anonymous before you submit.

Will I be credited if an organisation uses my project pitch?

We agree that students should be given credit for their ideas – it's a credit to their skills and looks great to any future employer.

Part of the agreement that organisations sign is to fully credit students if they use any of their ideas. If a student feels as though their idea has been used without credit, they can report this to us and we’ll investigate the matter thoroughly with the option of legal action.

What if I feel I’ve been unfairly treated by an organisation?

As previously mentioned, organisations will operate on a three-strike policy. Students who feel they’ve been mistreated or mislead will be able to report the organisation. The organisation will then be contacted by us, as well as receiving at least one strike depending on the severity of the incident.

How will my privacy be protected?

At U.HQ, we take user privacy very seriously. Any information provided to us by users will remain strictly confidential and only used for the purpose of fulfilling our services. You’ll be able to select which information you're comfortable to show on your profile and hide anything you’d like to remain private. We will only pass on student contact details to organisations if the student applies to the organisation. For organisations, we’ll only register your contact details if you agree to do so in our ‘industry connections section, or if you disclose this in your available opportunities. If you feel your privacy has been breached at any stage, please contact us.

Do I always have to pay to post jobs?

Organisations can post any available student opportunities they may have at no cost, including internships, project briefs and upcoming events. This will require them to create a free company login. Basic advertisements on the hub will be free of charge, with varying additional benefits that come with payment for an advertisement and opting for a plan. Partner organisations will sign contracts to be regular contributors of opportunities and industry contacts. These partnerships will involve a monthly payment plan.

What is the difference between U.HQ partners and regular organisations who sign up?

Our partners are organisations who will agree to post regular job opportunities, project briefs they need fulfilled and offer industry contacts for students to connect with.

Partners can be anything from small organisations with limited budgets looking for student help, to large organisations wanting to take on board and mentor students. If we feel your values and opportunities align with our platform, we’ll approach you to be a partner. Additionally, you can submit an inquiry and we’ll assess your eligibility.

Not all organisations must be partners to be involved with our hub. Any organisation can post their internship and project opportunities. The hub will provide benefits particularly to organisations who may be lacking in resources, heavily reliant on interns, or eager to employ young and diverse minds.
